Light Shed Linen at German Ecodesign Award

Light Shed Linen, the first professional lighting product made of linen, has successfully passed the first selection step of the German Ecodesign Award, with the appreciation of the expert panel. On 16-17 September, the project will undergo a second and final evaluation that will determine the winners of the prestigious award.

The German Ecodesign Award, established in 2012 by the Federal Ministry of the Environment and the Federal Environment Agency in cooperation with the International Design Centre Berlin, is Germany's highest state award for ecological design. This award celebrates designers, companies and students from Germany and Europe who contribute significantly to the sustainable transformation of our economy and society. The selection criteria include excellent design, ecological compatibility and an orientation towards the future.
We are happy to contribute to this ‘positive growth’ and are therefore working on several fronts to develop high-performance, low environmental impact solutions.

Light Shed Linen at German Ecodesign Award

Light Shed Linen is the result of advanced research into materials and processes. Made from linen, it contributes strongly to the reduction of the carbon and water footprint. The product body’s material is much lighter (-46% compared to Light Shed dB). The high efficiency and intelligence of the system also optimizes the usage phase, which affects 90% of the total environmental impact.
The light produced is pleasant and comfortable, it lowers stress levels and stimulates creativity. Thanks to integrated sensors, the system optimises the balance between natural and artificial light, ensuring visual comfort, high efficiency and Tunable White technology to recreate the natural light dynamics we need.

Winning the first selection step is already a great success for Light Shed Linen and an important step towards recognition as a leader in ecological design.
